FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. – If you’re feeling a little overwhelmed trying to keep up with everything happening in Franklin County—don’t worry, you’re not alone. With multiple major events taking place around the same time, here’s a clear breakdown of “where to be” as the community heads into a busy and exciting stretch in May.

Things get started on Thursday, May 7, with the Franklin County TN250 Celebration held alongside the National Day of Prayer at the old high school football field on Dinah Shore Boulevard. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the National Day of Prayer program set for 6 p.m. Families can enjoy a kid zone, food trucks, live entertainment, and community booths, all centered around faith, family, and local pride.

That momentum rolls right into the Community Fun Day Celebration on May 8 and 9, running from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. each day. This event offers something for everyone, including live music, bounce houses, contests, cook-offs, bingo, a car cruise-in, and a wide variety of vendors. It’s designed to be a full weekend of family-friendly entertainment and community connection.

At the same time, one of Franklin County’s biggest annual traditions returns as the High on the Hog Festival runs from May 8 through May 17 at Winchester City Park. Featuring food, live music, a KCBS-sanctioned cook-off on May 9, and a full carnival opening May 13, the festival provides nearly ten days of activity for residents and visitors alike.

While some of these events overlap, each offers a unique experience—giving families multiple options to get out, enjoy the community, and be part of the action.
