Cathy McGee Taylor of Decherd, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July
29, 2026, at the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and kindness that will forever
be cherished by all who knew her.
She was born on May 29, 1959 to the late James Trimble and Annie Hill in Winchester,
Tennessee.
A devoted Christian woman, Cathy loved the Lord and faithfully attended Winchester Church of
Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was reflected in the compassion and grace
she showed to everyone she met. Cathy found strength in God’s promises and lived with a
lasting hope that guided her through both life’s joys and challenges, and a mission to save as
many souls as she could, especially her loved ones.
Cathy loved shopping, fashion, keeping up with the latest trends, and decorating for every
holiday. She had a special way of adding beauty and personality to everything she touched. She
also enjoyed watching movies, especially with her favorite actor Denzel Washington. Cathy had
a youthful spirit, a fun-loving heart, and a gift for finding joy in life’s special moments, whether
big or small. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and caring heart made others feel welcome and
loved, whether they were family, friends, or someone she had just met.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Trimble; her mother, Annie Hill; her stepfather,
Archie Hill; her sister, Jacqueline Staples; her brother, Frederick Trimble; and her grandson
Jeremiah Armstrong.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry Taylor; her children, Tricia Taylor, Larry
(Lanna) Taylor Jr., Debron (Elizabeth) Taylor, Sheray Taylor, Micheal (Mindy Magouirk) Taylor,
and Lashawnda (Denzel Hampton) Taylor; her grandchildren, David Ireland, Anthony (Ana)
Ireland, Dabonte (Zoie Blake) Taylor, Tahjawuan (Leah) Taylor, Bai’Lee Stovall, Joshua Taylor,
Rachel Taylor, Maleya Taylor, Shia Taylor, Isaiah Taylor, Hadlee Magouirk, Kennison Taylor, and
Ka’Mari Taylor; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Kamila Taylor, Kreed Taylor, and Sariyah
Taylor. Cathy is also survived by many brothers and sisters, along with a host of beloved aunts,
uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with endless family and friends who were all
honored to know her.
Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Winchester Church of Christ with funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
