LifeWise Academy Launching Bible-Based Character Education Program in Franklin County

A new educational opportunity is coming to Franklin County students this fall as LifeWise Academy prepares to begin offering Bible-based character education classes for students at Cowan Elementary School.

According to LifeWise Academy Franklin County Director Linda Periut Johnson, classes are scheduled to begin on August 31 for Cowan Elementary students in grades 1 through 5. Participating students will be escorted by LifeWise chaperones from Cowan Elementary School to Hope Baptist Church, where they will receive instruction focused on character development and biblical principles.

Johnson says enrollment is now officially open and encourages parents to register their students as soon as possible during the summer months.

“Thanks to our supportive community, we can offer LifeWise classes to Cowan Elementary School students in grades 1–5,” Johnson said. “We look forward to seeing how this program will impact our students and unite the county.”

LifeWise classes will take place during non-required academic periods, such as discovery classes that may include STEM, art, music, or library time. Participation in the program is voluntary and requires parental permission.

Johnson also thanked the community members, churches, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the program possible.

“We could not provide this program to our students without your generous support,” she said. “We are eternally grateful. This program will positively impact students and their families for generations to come.”

LifeWise Academy officials say the curriculum is designed to help strengthen character development, support positive decision-making, and reinforce values such as responsibility, integrity, and respect. Students learn through a chronological study of the Bible, with lessons connecting biblical teachings to practical character traits that can be applied at home, school, and within the community.

Parents interested in enrolling their children for the August 31 launch can register now at lifewise.org/franklintn. For additional information about the Franklin County program, parents may contact Linda Johnson directly at 931-570-0456.

LifeWise Academy, headquartered in Hilliard, Ohio, operates as a released-time religious instruction program that allows public school students, with parental consent, to leave campus for one hour each week to attend off-site classes.
