Inaugural Franklin County Quarterback Club Classic Raises More Than $11,000 for Rebel Football

WINCHESTER, TN – The inaugural Franklin County Quarterback Club Classic was held Monday, June 15, at The Bear Trace at Tims Ford, marking a major first-year success for the Franklin County Quarterback Club and the Franklin County High School football program.

The tournament featured all 18 holes sponsored and 15 teams participating, with golfers teeing off during an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The event came together over the course of only a few months through the hard work of Quarterback Club members and the generosity of sponsors across the community. The effort was sparked by a partnership between ESPN Radio Winchester and The Bear Trace at Tims Ford, helping create a new annual event centered around supporting Franklin County football.

According to organizers, the inaugural tournament cleared more than $11,000, with proceeds going to support the Franklin County High School football program.

The weather was beautiful throughout the morning, and the course was in terrific shape for the tournament. ESPN Radio Winchester also broadcast The Starting Lineup live on location from The Bear Trace, highlighting the event, the Quarterback Club, and the continued effort to build support around the Rebel football program.

Several Franklin County football players also came out to meet and greet golfers and help with cleanup after finishing their morning workout, giving participants a chance to connect directly with the student-athletes the event was designed to support.

Franklin County Quarterback Club President James Price said the event represented exactly the kind of community involvement the club hoped to create.

“On behalf of the Franklin County Quarterback Club, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, and supported our first-ever golf tournament, with a special shout-out to The Bear Trace Golf Course for making it all possible,” Price said. “It was a perfect day for golf and a great way to support the Franklin County High School football team. This event was a great representation of the culture that we want to bring back to our community. We’re already booked for next year, June 7, 2027, so go ahead and save the date. We’ll see you then.”

Franklin County Head Football Coach Reid said the support shown throughout the event is another important step in building momentum around the program.

“This tournament was a great example of what can happen when a community gets behind its kids,” Reid said. “Our players saw coaches, parents, businesses, alumni, and supporters all coming together for Franklin County football, and that matters. We’re working every day to build the right culture inside our program, and support like this helps reinforce that our community believes in these young men.”

The team of Stanley Bean, Kent Bean, Mark Bean, and Oliver Bean took home first place in the tournament. Camden Eslick, Cason Eslick, Cooper Eslick, and Aiden Morse finished in second place, while Daniel Wiggs, James Ashley, James Wiseman, and Avery Wiggs placed third.

Several contests were also held throughout the day. Trevor Lockhart won both the closest-to-the-pin contest and the Quarterback Challenge, taking home a television and a YETI cooler. Matt Finch won the long drive contest and received a set of cornhole boards.

Joe Abraham won the putting contest, which included a $50 gift certificate to Bowlen Farm Sales and a 280-piece mechanics tool set from Home Depot.

Event sponsors included ESPN Radio Winchester, Domino’s Pizza, Greg O’Neal, Wags & Wiggles, Citizens Tri-County Bank, District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, Teddy’s Lawnmower, Franklin County Financial Services, James Equipment Rental, Twelve Church, Powers Machine, Vital Care Clinic, Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas, Bowlen Farm Sales, Yates Land Management, Poultry Electric & Pro Hardware, Bean Rhoton & Kelley PLLC, Tims Ford Pressure Washing, Walmart, Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home, Mass Appeal Fitness, Citizens Community Bank, Porto’s Vinyl Designs, Charles Keller, Tim Fuller, Good Game Arcade, and Wreck-A-Mended.
