GILES COUNTY, TN – A months-long investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies has led to a significant drug seizure and two arrests in the Goodspring area of Giles County.
According to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, investigators—working alongside the Pulaski Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation—executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Fall River Road.

During the search, authorities seized approximately 84 grams (about three ounces) of fentanyl, a highly dangerous and addictive substance, along with roughly 20 grams of marijuana. Investigators also recovered two firearms, drug paraphernalia, more than $8,000 in cash, and a vehicle.
Sheriff Joe Purvis said the operation reflects an ongoing commitment to addressing illegal drug activity in the community.
“Fentanyl continues to pose a serious threat, and we will remain proactive in our efforts to protect the citizens of Giles County,” Purvis said. He also credited community members for reporting concerns, noting that public support plays a critical role in law enforcement efforts.
As a result of the investigation, Kendrick Young Jr. was taken into custody and charged with possession of fentanyl with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and simple possession.

Authorities remind the public that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Officials also emphasized that while enforcement efforts continue, resources are available for those struggling with substance abuse, including support through organizations such as Cedar Recovery, Centerstone, and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services.
