Franklin County Schools has announced the addition of two new instructional leaders who will help support teachers and strengthen student learning across the district.
Breanna Mantooth has been named the new K-8 Literacy Coach, bringing extensive experience in early and intermediate grade education. Mantooth has taught Kindergarten, 1st grade and 5th-grade English Language Arts, giving her a strong understanding of the full K-5 literacy continuum. District officials say her expertise in evidence-based literacy practices will play a key role in enhancing reading instruction. She is also currently pursuing her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Joining her is Ashley Deal, who has been named the new K-8 Math Coach. Deal brings more than 15 years of experience in elementary education and has been recognized twice as a “Teacher of the Year.” School leaders say her strength lies in using data-driven strategies and collaboration to improve student outcomes. In addition to her classroom experience, Deal holds a Master’s degree in School Counseling.
District officials say both positions are designed to provide direct support to teachers, helping to improve instruction and student performance in core subject areas. By focusing on both literacy and math development, the district aims to strengthen foundational skills for students across all grade levels.
School leaders expressed confidence that both Mantooth and Deal will make an immediate impact through their leadership, experience and commitment to education.
The additions reflect the district’s continued focus on investing in instructional support and ensuring that teachers have the resources and guidance needed to help students succeed.
