Moore County Schools Seeks Bids For New High School Greenhouse

Moore County Schools is seeking construction bids for a new greenhouse at Moore County High School in Lynchburg, with a December deadline for contractors to submit proposals.

The project would be built at the school, 1502 Lynchburg Highway. The advertised work includes concrete, the greenhouse structure, plumbing and electrical work.

Sealed bids are due at the Moore County Board of Education office by 1 p.m. Central on Thursday, Dec. 3. The bids will be opened and read aloud at that time.

The district’s stated goal is to have the work completed by April 1, 2027. The request for proposals does not identify a selected contractor or state a total project cost.

Contractors interested in bidding can attend an optional prebid meeting at the school at 1 p.m. Central on Monday, Nov. 16. The notice directs visitors to check in at the school office and says the site will not be available for additional prebid access after that date.

Plans and specifications are available through Oliver Little Gipson Engineering in Tullahoma. Electronic plans are free, but prospective bidders must contact the engineering firm to register as plan holders. The firm can be reached at 931-454-9940.

The school board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The April completion date remains a project goal rather than a guaranteed opening date.
