David Wayne Allen, age 60 of Elora, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Winchester on July 3, 1966. He was the owner and operator of Allen Logging Company. An avid outdoorsman, he loved being in the great outdoors, whether it was deer hunting, ATV riding, or being on the mountain. He also enjoyed working on trucks and heavy equipment. One of a kind, Wayne was a hard-working man who could work circles around a twenty-year-old. He will lovingly be remembered for his wonderful personality as he never met a stranger. A devoted Christian, he was a member of Apostolic Church of Restoration in Cowan, where he was baptized by Bro. Lester Ashley.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Willie Allen; and daughter, Hana Allen. He is survived by his loving wife of over four years, Connie Allen; son, Josh (Veronica) Allen; mother, Dorothy Allen; brother, Joe (Sandy) Allen; niece, Haylee Allen; nephew, Brandon Allen; stepchildren, Emmett McPherson, Rachel McPherson, and Trace McPherson; grandchildren, Wyatt Allen and Hunter Lane; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Ashley, Bro. George Sells, and Bro. Stoney Luna officiating. Interment will follow at Elora Cemetery with Jed Ashley, Peanut Ashley, Jerry Ashley, Mark Tyler, Pee Wee Bailey, and Steve Wiggs serving as pallbearers.
