August 15, 1944 – July 26, 2026
David Harold Lemieux, age 81 of Decherd, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Flint, Michigan on August 15, 1944, to the late Charles and Alice June (Wiers) Lemieux. David proudly served his country in the United States Army. On January 30, 1965, he married the love of his life, Marrietta Lemieux. He lived in Skyline, Alabama for the majority of his life where he was employed until the time of his retirement as an electrician for Beaulieu. David was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed tinkering with cars, tractors, and his trail wagon. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family will fondly recall memories of how he enjoyed playing “Dirty Santa” at Christmas. The backbone of his family, he was a kind-hearted husband, father, and papa, and taught his children a good work ethic of how to be independent but reminding them if all else fails, “call daddy.” In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Ann Woods; brothers, Larry Lemieux, Jerry Lemieux, and George Charles “Chuck” Lemieux; son, David Harold Lemieux Jr; granddaughter, Lamonda Posey; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Bryant. David is survived by his loving wife, Marietta Breccia Lemieux; children, Tammy Matthews, Sandra (Kenny) Davis, Danny (Ashley) Lemieux, and Vincent (Coleen) Lemieux; sixteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie (Joe) Zupancic and Becky (Bob) Bedell; sisters-in-law, Gayle Lemieux, Linda Ashmore, Elane (Dave) Bagley, Aurora (Euyless) Holcomb, and Roschelle (John) Honea; brothers-in-law, John (Jane) Breccia and Glen (Mert) Breccia; several nieces and nephews; and many other friends and family members. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro.
