Cloras Marie (Rose) Morris

Cloras Marie (Rose) Morris, age 82 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 15, 1944, in Akron, Ohio to the late John Dillon and Geneva (Gilliam) Rose. She was a 1962 graduate of Franklin County High School. A devoted homemaker, she cherished her beloved family and loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a vast collection of vintage cookbooks and enjoyed trying the recipes in each. Cloras enjoyed watching and cheering for the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Rose, Jack Rose, and Johnny Rose; sisters, Karen Taylor, Diane Smith, and Dolly Caldwell; and niece, Vickie Smith. Cloras is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty-three years, Rev. Wayne Morris of Decherd; daughter, Carolyn (James) Morris Payne of Winchester; siblings, Steve (Becky) Rose of Monteagle, Joe (Linda) Rose of Tullahoma, Zella Lynn of Woodbury, and Vesta Brady of Altamont; grandchildren, Devin Walls and Meagan Walls; and great-grandchildren, Anna Swafford, Jamison Rylie Walls, and Maverick Walls, Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, Nov 5, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2026, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Rev. Rudy Wilkinson officiating.
