Donna Lyn Hughes, age 83, of Winchester, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born on August 21, 1942, in Paterson, New Jersey, to the late Neil and Josephine (Dyksen) Ott.
Donna was a graduate of Fair Lawn High School and the Beauty School of Paterson. She later retired from Wisco Envelope in Tullahoma. She was a faithful member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Winchester and was active in the FCE Club, Machine Embroidery and Charity Quilts, Southern Women’s Club, Joy Club, and Republican Women’s Club. Donna enjoyed machine embroidery, quilting, crocheting, painting, and attending craft shows along with eating once a month with her lunch bunch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Gary Hughes; sister, Joyce Lawler; and niece, Diane Harr.
Donna is survived by her loving children, Neil (Jenny) Hughes and Michelle (David) Porter; grandchildren, Hayden Hughes, Kacie (Jacob) Clark, Rachel (Lucas) Malhoit, Nolan (Charis) Hughes, Taryn Hughes, Tenley Hughes, Lake Porter, Joelle Porter, and Annie Porter; great-grandchildren, McCoy Clark and Ryder Malhoit; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Michael Clark officiating.
