Franklin County fans are being encouraged to make the trip to Tullahoma High School tonight for a special Purple Out in support of Gracen Baggett, who remains hospitalized.
The night carries meaning beyond the standings.
The Franklin County Rebelettes enter the matchup at 16–9 overall and 5–1 in district play, sitting atop the district and continuing to play inspired basketball in Gracen’s absence. Tullahoma comes in at 15–9 overall and 4–2 in district, with Franklin County having edged the Wildcats by a single point earlier this season in one of the district’s most tightly contested games.
Tonight’s rematch takes place in an environment where Tullahoma has asked fans to wear purple as a visible show of support for Gracen — a gesture that has been met with appreciation across Franklin County.
The boys matchup also adds to the atmosphere. Tullahoma’s boys enter the night 19–4 overall, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, and undefeated in district play. Franklin County’s Rebels, currently 9–17 overall and 2–4 in district, will face a tough challenge but will do so in front of a packed, emotionally charged gym.
More than wins and losses, tonight is about presence.
It’s about showing up for a young woman who has meant so much to her teammates, her school, and her community — and reminding her that she’s not facing this fight alone.
Fans are encouraged to wear purple, be loud, and be visible.
Sometimes, the biggest impact doesn’t show up on the scoreboard.
