Carolyn Sue Murray, age 83, passed away on November 4, 2026, at Elk River Nursing Center. She was born on May 4, 1943, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Shields and Mary (Isenberg) Murray.
Carolyn worked as a Legal and Administrative Assistant for more than 40 years. She grew up in East TN, raised her family in Virginia, and retired in Winchester, TN. Friend or stranger, she won you over with her warm, friendly personality and left you with a smile. Whether you knew her or not, or were even listening, she would tell you endless stories and the latest news of her family, for she was an extremely proud, caring Mother, Grandmother. Pantry bare, no worries, she had the amazing ability to put together a spread whether for four or fourteen, including made from scratch pies, which always yielded a request for her recipe. Her best friend was her sister, Betty, they were inseparable and are together again. Her smile, caring nature and conversations are missed and fondly remembered.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Phillips. She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Ray Mann; sons, Jeff (Crystal) Mauck and Joe (Hongli) Mauck; and grandchildren, Anthony, Drew, Allison, and Tyler Mauck.
A private inurnment will be held at Bethesda Cemetery in Morristown, Tennessee.
