Drivers on Cowan Road should be prepared for flagger-assisted lane closures beginning Monday, November 2, as utility work starts between Rogers Street and Jackson Street.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation lists the work on State Route 15 in Franklin County, with closures affecting both directions. The announced work period runs through December 2, with lane closures scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Motorists approaching that stretch should slow down and be ready to stop. TDOT says trucks, signs, flaggers and barrels or cones will be present.
The Cowan Road project is separate from the resurfacing already underway on SR-15 between Belvidere Lane and Veterans Memorial Drive. TDOT’s latest report continues to list daily lane closures for that resurfacing, with one lane in each direction maintained.
Residents planning trips through the work areas can check TDOT SmartWay before leaving for highway incidents, construction activity and traffic-camera views. Tennessee’s 511 telephone service also provides travel information. Drivers should check those resources before getting behind the wheel.
