Tullahoma’s State Soccer Run Ends In Semifinal Loss To Liberty Creek

Tullahoma’s girls soccer season ended Wednesday, Oct. 28, with a 3–1 loss to Liberty Creek in the Division I Class AA state semifinals at Baylor School in Chattanooga.

The Lady Wildcats finished 16–4–1 after reaching the tournament’s final four. Liberty Creek advanced to face South Gibson in Friday’s championship match at Finley Stadium.

Brindley Duncan scored Tullahoma’s goal, answering Liberty Creek’s opening score just over a minute later. Finley Dacosta supplied the assist on Duncan’s goal at 7:07, tying the match 1–1.

That score held through halftime. Tullahoma threatened again early in the second half, with Duncan hitting the post at 54:11 and Dacosta sending a shot wide moments later.

Liberty Creek broke the tie at 56:00 on Avery Taylor’s goal off a free kick. Avery Baker added the final goal at 68:33. Adalyn Medina assisted on all three Liberty Creek goals.

Tullahoma goalkeeper Anzley Holloway made six saves. Duncan accounted for four of the Lady Wildcats’ six shots, including three on goal.

The semifinal followed Tullahoma’s 7–0 victory over Dyersburg in Tuesday’s quarterfinal round. Both games were played at Baylor during the four-day state tournament in Chattanooga.

Liberty Creek reached Wednesday’s matchup by defeating Signal Mountain 2–1. In the other semifinal, South Gibson beat Anderson County 3–1 to earn the remaining championship berth.
