Decherd residents will have four places to drop off donations when a community food and coat drive begins Sunday, November 1.
The Decherd Fire Department is organizing the drive with the Decherd Special Events Committee to help local friends and neighbors in need. The city announced the effort Tuesday, October 27.
Organizers are asking for nonperishable food and new coats. The city’s announcement graphic lists canned goods and dry goods among the food donations, along with hygiene products. New coats are requested for children, teens and adults.
Donation boxes will be available at:
Decherd City Hall, 1301 West Main Street, during regular business hours.
Impressions, 1214 West Main Street.
Vivid Journey, 1942 Decherd Boulevard.
Music City Gyros, 21 Chattin Street.
The announcement does not list a closing date for the drive or explain how donated items will be distributed. It also does not provide separate drop-off hours for the three participating businesses.
Residents planning a donation should note that the coat request is specifically for new coats, rather than used clothing. Additional details are available through the city’s food and coat drive announcement.
