Barbara Hastings Williams, age 91 of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Viva Senior Living (Franklin Manor) in Winchester, TN. She was born in Decherd, TN on December 17, 1934, to the late Hoyte and Beatrice Cowan Hastings. She graduated from Franklin County High School in 1953, where she played basketball. She worked as a bank teller at First National Bank in Decherd. After taking time off to raise her boys, she then went to work in the cafeteria at Decherd Elementary School, where she later became manager of the cafeteria. She retired in the early 1990’s. She enjoyed camping with family and friends at Tennessee Hills Campground, traveling with friends, cooking for her family, and watching sports, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide. She loved the Lord and as long as she was physically able, she attended Marble Plains Baptist Church. She was such a fun-loving lady and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles David Williams. She is survived by her sons, Gregory David Williams (Jeanette) and Robert Hoyte Williams (Linda); brother Gene Hastings; special cousin, Becky Goolsby; nieces, Vickie Corley (Ron) and Sheila Weddington (Roy); and nephew, Tim Hastings (Jessica). Graveside service will be held at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester, TN on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 10:00 am with Brother Roger Parks officiating.
