Charles Edward “Curly” Williams Sr. gained his wings at NHC Tullahoma on Thursday, April 30, 20206 at the age of 78 years. He is a native of Manchester, Tennessee, born on June 12, 1947, to the late Wesley Williams and Mary Elizabeth Simmons Williams.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by two infant sons, Charles Edward William Jr., and Christopher Mark Williams, brothers, Rex E. Williams, Randall W. Williams, Clyde W. Williams, brother in laws, Tommy Michal and Don Hill, nephew, Steven Wesley Williams, great niece, Amanda Lynn Hill, great nephew, Franklin Keith Morris, and longtime companion, Carolyn Frances Wilfong,
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Friends may visit on Tuesday at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Per Mr. Williams request, cremation will follow the services.
Charles was a retired over the road truck driver all his life. He worked for Alford and Sons Trucking and Chambers Trucking for many years. He enjoyed playing poker machines and scratching off lottery tickets even before Tennessee had lottery tickets. He won the Kentucky Lottery at one time when Cheyenne was just a baby. He also loved his dog, “Boy”. You could always find him at any Waffle House or Old Stone Fort Restaurant.
His survivors include his daughters, Sabrina (Keith) Monroe of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Lisa (Larry) Smith of Tullahoma, Tennessee, granddaughters, Cheyanne (Jason) Bumpus of Hillsboro, Tennessee, Carisha (Zach) Northcutt of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Savannah Parker of Winchester, Tennessee, grandsons, Scotty (Amber) Wilfong, Keith (Lindsay) Monroe of Tullahoma, Tennessee, Chad Wilfong of Kentucky, brother, William Albert Williams of Manchester, Tennessee, sisters, Barbara Michal, Lindaa Faye (Buddy) Cooley, Helen Hill all of Manchester, Tennessee, Lois (Jimmie) Cyree of Estill Springs, Tennessee, Joyce Pateritsas of Georgia, Carolyn Taverner of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, the mother of his children, Augusta Lawson of Tullahoma, Tennessee, eleven great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
