Cary Wade King, age 60 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester to Annie Dean King and the late Dewey King.
Wade worked for many years as a mental health counselor in Tullahoma. He was artistic and musically talented, enjoying the fiddle and violin as well as painting. He also enjoyed trips to Gatlinburg, learning about Native American culture, attending powwows, researching genealogy, and spending time with his family.
A Christian, Wade attended Sewanee Church of God. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmett and Eliza King and Monroe and Mae Tant, and his brother-in-law, Shawn Haraway.
Survivors include his mother, Annie Dean King; siblings, Chad King and Kim Haraway (Dayton) Winton; nieces, Kailee Rigsby and Carley Rigsby; aunts, Vivian (Ray) Trussell, Ethel King, and Anna Lee (John) Kuntz; uncle, Barney (Donna) Tant; special friends, Jackie Ramsey and Mark Lewis; many cousins; and his cat, Lilly.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, from noon until 2:00 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with interment at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
