Delmar Stone, born June 8, 1954, in Anna, Illinois, passed away August 10, 2026, surrounded by the love and memories of those who knew him. He was a longtime resident of Belvidere, Tennessee, and a proud military veteran.
Delmar was a man who found joy in the simple things in life—building and working on classic cars, fishing, spending time outdoors, and enjoying time with his family and dear friends. He had a passion for shooting and took pride in the things he could build, fix, and create with his own hands. Above all, Delmar cherished the people and animals who were part of his life. His beloved dog, Buddy, was a faithful companion and held a very special place in his heart.
Delmar is survived by his son, Raymond “JR” Stone (April), and his daughter, Tricia Lively (James); his grandchildren, Emma Lively, Alec Lively (Eden), Olivia Loudermilk (Clayton), and Katelyn Stone; and his great-grandchildren, Ashton and Jayce. He is also survived by his brothers, Bon Stone (Cheryl) and Don Stone (Becky); his sister, Janet Vanover (Jack); his dear friend John Dunn; and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Stone and Raymond Stone; his beloved wife, Edith Marie Stone; and his granddaughter, Madison Stone.
Delmar will be remembered for his love of family, his friendships, his passion for classic cars and the outdoors, and the memories he created along the way. His family will carry those memories with them and cherish the time they were blessed to have with him.
Though he is no longer with us, the stories, laughter, lessons, and memories he leaves behind will continue to live on through his family and all those who loved him.
Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Keith Springs Cemetery.
