A 16-year-old male has been taken into custody following a shooting investigation in Warren County earlier this week.
According to a report published by Thunder Radio, deputies with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department responded during the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 26, to the Underwood Road area after receiving reports of an altercation involving a shooting.
When deputies arrived at the scene, authorities learned the victim had already been transported by private vehicle to River Park Hospital for treatment. Officials also determined the suspected shooter had fled the area before law enforcement arrived.
Later Tuesday evening, the Warren County Sheriff’s Department announced on social media that 16-year-old John Medley had been taken into custody shortly before 6 p.m.
As of the time the report was published, authorities had not released information regarding formal charges connected to the case.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not released additional details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting or the condition of the victim.
Because the suspect is a juvenile, information released publicly may remain limited as the investigation continues through the court process.
