Stella Mae Limbaugh, age 86 of Belvidere, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026. A native of Franklin County, she was born on April 3, 1940, to the late Charlie and Bessie (Taylor) Hall. A hard worker, for much of her life she worked on the farm with her husband in the tobacco fields, as well as growing and canning vegetables. After retiring from SAS Shoe Company, Stella worked part-time at Food Lion and Wal-Mart, where she worked in the deli and Lakeside Manor. Since then, she had been a devoted homemaker enjoying cooking, baking, and keeping house. The most loving mother and grandmother, she participated in 4-H and Girl Scouts, as well as hosted International Exchange Students while raising her family. Stella enjoyed reading as well as watching games shows, such as Price is Right and Family Feud and Outlander on television. A dedicated Christian, she was a member of Maxwell Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Glen Limbaugh; son, Robert Terry Limbaugh; and siblings, Ralph Hall, Leon Hall, Levoyd Hall, Rayford Hall, Jeraline Philpot, and Dorothy Philpot. Stella is survived by her loving daughter, Tina (Tom) Faris; grandchildren, Stephanie (Mike) McConnell, Tiffany (Allan) Limbaugh, Amber (Gavin) Helton, Michelle (Jeff) Cotton, and Tommy (Helen) Faris; great-grandchildren, John, Promise, Grayson, Holden, Madison, Madelyn, Adam, Ella Mae, Flynn, Axl, and Penelope; brother, Charles Hall; several nieces and nephews; and special family friend, Glen Roland. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice for their care for Stella in her final days.
