Russell Walker Keyser, age 59 of Tullahoma, passed away on October 6, 2026, at Manchester Center for Rehabilitation and Healing. He was born in Hamilton, Montana, to the late Robert William and Joan Cassista Keyser Sr.
Russ was a lifelong horseman whose passion for Tennessee Walking Horses began in childhood. Over the years, he trained horses, started colts, and judged major shows including the International and the SSHBEA World Championship. His work and love for the breed touched many people throughout the horse industry.
Outside the barn, Russ enjoyed movies, karaoke, and cheering for the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs. He knew the Lord and attended Mt. Carmel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his significant other, Rita Poe Colbert; siblings, Jan Keyser, Robert Keyser Jr., Dan Keyser, Laura Pitts, and Kim Darling; children, JoAnn Keyser, Jason Colbert, and Jeremy Colbert; grandchildren, Alyssa Colbert and Bella Colbert; and his beloved pets, Cole and Vanna.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 12, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
