Juvenile Injured in Vehicle Incident at Estill Springs City Park

ESTILL SPRINGS, Tenn. – PRESS RELEASE

A juvenile was injured Thursday evening following a vehicle-related accident at Estill Springs City Park, according to a press release from the Estill Springs Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene on April 11, 2026, where emergency medical personnel determined that a 10-year-old child had sustained injuries after being struck by a vehicle. Preliminary findings indicate the child’s foot was run over by a Ford F-250.

Witness statements suggest the child was attempting to cross the roadway near the concession area when they entered the path of the vehicle’s front driver-side wheel.

The child was transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt for treatment. Authorities say the child is expected to make a full recovery.

Following an on-scene investigation, the Estill Springs Police Department determined there was no evidence of criminal negligence or wrongdoing on the part of the driver.

Officials say the incident remains under routine review. They are also reminding the public to use caution in park areas, particularly where pedestrian and vehicle traffic may intersect.

The department emphasized the importance of awareness and safety for both drivers and pedestrians in shared public spaces.
