Jimmy Edgar Walker, age 92, of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 3, 1933, in Nashville to the late James D. and Gladys R. (Harris) Walker. Jimmy spent more than thirty-seven years as an educator and also coached basketball after school. A man of strong faith, he served over the years as a minister or song leader at Owl Hollow Church of Christ, Oak Grove Church of Christ, Bethel Church of Christ, and Milford Road Church of Christ, and most recently attended Huntland Church of Christ. He also enjoyed working on cars and collecting toy trucks and jukeboxes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jean Walker; sons, Kevin Walker, Keith Walker, and Kirk Walker; grandson, Christopher Leigh Humphreys; and sister, Johnnie Fulcher. Survivors include sons, Kim Walker (Dena Frazier) and Kerry Walker; daughter, Konnie Humphreys (Tom); several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Watson Memorial Park, 405 Sharp Springs Road in Winchester.
