Gayle Stills, age 87 of Estill Springs, passed away on May 25, 2026, at Vanderbilt Harton Hospital in Tullahoma. She was born in Franklin County on August 1, 1938, to the late Ernest Harris and Nannie Pauline (Patrick) Harris. Gayle previously worked for Winchester Hat, Lanier, and Mtek, where she retired from after nineteen years of employment. She was always easy-going and loved talking and visiting with everyone she knew. Gayle loved watching old westerns, working crossword puzzles, taking vacations to Florida and Gatlinburg, and sitting on the porch watching the hummingbirds. Above all though, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Gayle is preceded in death by her husband, Cecile Stills; daughters, Renee Flynn and Sandy Jones; granddaughter, Regina Flynn; siblings, Molly White, J.W. Harris, Don Harris, Francis Harp. Earline Argo, Bonnie Sue Nunley; and son-in-law, Charlie Ray. Gayle is survived by her daughters, Linda Stills, Shirley Ray (Charlie Wiseman); grandchildren, Samantha (Scott) McClanahan, Stefanie (Jamie) Solomon, Adam (Ashley) Barnes, Rebecca Flynn, Joseph Flynn, Nikki Lockhart, twelve great-grandchildren, sister, Patricia Brothers, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 12pm-3pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Winton officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Garner Cemetery in Decherd.
