Loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Emmitt Allen David, Sr. was born November 30, 1947, to Robert Floyd David and Roseanna (Goodman) David in Winchester, Tennessee. He married Brenda Jeanette (Mann) David on February 22, 1968, in Ringgold, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Charles Robert David and grandson, Oscar William David; his parents; his sister, Judy (David) Smith; brother, Robert David; and brother, Donnie V. David.
Emmitt served his country in the US Air Force from 1965–1973 during the Vietnam era. He was a Sergeant when his years of service ended. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 295. Emmitt retired from Bethlehem Steel Mill and came back home to care for his ailing mother. Emmitt worked for the Lincoln & Donalson Health Care System.
Emmitt loved to fish and went as often as possible. He took great pride in being able to fix anything. Emmitt was a stranger to no one. He made friends everywhere he went.
He is survived by his daughter, Deloris Jean (Kenny) Satoski; son, Emmitt Allen (Kathy) David Jr.; grandsons, Jake Robert David, Joel Michael McKinnon, Justin (Kim) Withrow, and Craig Withrow; great-grandson, Blaine Withrow; great-granddaughter, Ella Withrow; brother, Willard (Pat) David; sister, Bonnie Williams; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
A special thank you is extended to the staff at Bailey Manor for the wonderful care and love shown to Emmitt and his family through the end.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at Shady Grove Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
