Johnny Lee Taylor, age 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at the Tree of Life Residential Center in Tracy City, Tennessee.
Johnny was born on October 3, 1946, in Lincoln Park, Michigan, to the late John Dee Taylor and Lucille Catherine Allen Taylor. He was a quiet and simple man who found his greatest joy in life by being with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Johnny was an avid Elvis Fan and he enjoyed his newly made family and friends at the Tree of Life Residential Care, who brought immense happiness to his life. He was known there as “Grouchy”.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Tony Taylor, and his sister, Judy Taylor Prince.
Johnny’s memory will be forever cherished by his devoted son, John D. Taylor, and his wife, Tina; his sister-in-law, Madeline Taylor; his beloved grandchildren, Faith Taylor Walter and her husband, Ted, and Hope Taylor Ketron and her husband, Jarryd; and his precious great-grandchildren, Thomas Calhoun and Lucille Grace Walter. Nieces, `Terry Taylor Olvera, Tammy Prince Kesey, Tina Prince Harlston, Teresa Prince Thompson and Nephews Tony Taylor and the late Terri Prince, as well as several great and great great nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at the Tree of Life Residential Center for making him so happy towards the end of his journey. Each and everyone of you made each day a better day, and for that we will be forever grateful.
