Martha Maierbacher, 95, passed away on October 2, 2026. She was born in Munich, Germany, and later immigrated to the United States, where she became an American citizen.
After studying fashion design in Munich, Martha worked as a fashion designer and model in Connecticut and New York. She married Josef Maierbacher on July 11, 1971, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and the couple later made their home in Tullahoma.
Martha and Josef shared a love of aviation, flying single-engine airplanes and gliders. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and preparing authentic German dishes for friends.
She is survived by her brother, Herbert Braun, along with neighbors and friends who will remember her fondly.
