Jeannie Cordelia Miller, age 54, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro surrounded by family. She was born in Manchester to the late Richard H. Gipson and Imogene Davis Gipson.
Jeannie devoted 30 years to education and served students throughout the community, including two years as principal of Franklin County High School. She was known for her intelligence, quick wit, outgoing personality and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
A longtime member of Greenhaw Baptist Church, Jeannie was saved and baptized there at age 13 and remained part of the church for approximately 40 years. She also enjoyed traveling, cruises, reading and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Richard A. (Tina) Gipson; nephews, Calen Gipson, Sam Gipson and Luke (Josie) Owens; niece, Grace Owens; great-nephew, Bodie Allen Owens; cousins, Melissa Gipson and Sherri (Jeff) Owens; aunts, Linda Acree and Bobbi Wheat; uncles, Larry (Karen) Davis and John W. Gipson; and extended family and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday evening at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, October 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, followed by interment at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
