Billy Wayne Lumbley of Manchester, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Unity Medical Center in Manchester at the age of 68 years. A native of Gulfport, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Marvin E. and Louise Malone Lumbley.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joe Collins; one brother, James Lumbley; and three sisters, Geri McKinney, Janice McGill, and Ruby Lumbley.
Billy loved playing cards, especially canasta and spades. He enjoyed chess and dominos, his early morning rice, sausage and coffee, mowing on his John Deere, and western movies. He was a big John Wayne fan and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Peggy Ann Lumbley of Manchester; children, Billy Lumbley Jr. of Manchester, Christy Brewer (Michael) of Manchester, Angie Meerdink of Hillsboro, Lisa Masters of Manchester, Cindy Darnell (Lonnie) of Normandy, and Jessica Howard (Jason) of Tullahoma; sister, Del Breedlove of Hillsboro; eighteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, September 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home in Tullahoma. Burial followed at Leming Cemetery in Normandy. Visitation was held Monday at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
