Sandra J. Syler, age 89 of Winchester, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A Franklin County native, she was born in Winchester to the late John Thomas Chauncey and Nettie Aline (Money) Cowan. Before retirement, Sandra worked as a teacher assistant for the Franklin County Board of Education. She also taught Children’s Church and Sunday School for more than thirty years at Oaklawn Baptist Church. She enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, puzzles and time with her family. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, William Syler, and several siblings. Survivors include her children, Brian (Anita) Syler, Joy Martin and Brad (Lynn) Syler; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and extended family. Funeral services were held September 18 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, with interment at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
