Bruce Spencer, age 74 of Winchester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Born in Winchester to the late Robert Lee Spencer Jr. and Betty June (Smith) Spencer, Bruce graduated from Franklin County High School in 1970 and earned an associate degree from Motlow State Community College. His life was marked by service to his community through the National Guard, the Jaycees, Boy Scouts, the Winchester Utility Board, city government and his church. He also served as Franklin County Property Assessor, owned Spencer’s Flowers with his wife, and later worked as a realtor. Bruce is survived by his wife of fifty years, Joy Spencer; sons, Bruce (Alicia) Spencer Jr. and Blake (Abby) Spencer; six grandchildren; brother, Brent (Angie) Spencer; and extended family. A memorial gathering was held September 15 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life on September 16 at Winchester Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
