Darin Eugene Burrell, age 60 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Gary, Indiana, on June 10, 1966, to the late Donald Eugene and Carol Ann (Lyle) Burrell. Darin started his professional career working at NASA and retired from Blue Origin, where he was employed as a mechanical engineer. An excellent cook, he also loved gardening, especially growing fruit trees and spending time with his dogs. Darin was an avid sportsman, particularly enjoying fishing (he would go anywhere at any time), kayaking, and hiking and had played rugby in college. Work gave him the opportunity to travel to many places, eventually calling Tennessee home. Intelligent and charming, Darin’s outgoing personality allowed him to command a room. He is survived by his son, Curtis Burrell; siblings, Lori Kerley and Pam (Mark) Brown-Seely; nephews, Aaron (Loly Gomez) Brown and Wayne (Bev) Kerley; nieces, Erica Brown, Amy (Josh) Sensat, and Erika Cronan (William Payne); and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
