Carl V. Cardwell, age 72, of Decherd, Tennessee, passed away on June 17, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 28, 1953, in Winchester, Tennessee, Carl was the son of the late Earl and Lela Brooks Cardwell. He was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his country in the United States Army. Carl retired from General Mills in Murfreesboro after many years of dedicated service as a Maintenance Technician.
Carl will be remembered for his quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, simple nature, strong work ethic, and unwavering love for his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he treasured the time he spent with those he loved most. He took great pride in keeping his yard neat and tidy and enjoyed listening to music. Carl was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them play.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his siblings, Orvle Cardwell, Bob Cardwell, Glenn Cardwell, Jane Cardwell, Carrie Cardwell, and Malcolm Cardwell.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Deborah Stewart Cardwell; brother, Kenneth Cardwell; sons, Wayne (Chelsea) Cardwell, Derek (Tiffany) Cardwell and Scott Robertson; grandchildren, Anthony Cardwell, Vivi Bee Cardwell, and Hudson Cardwell; great-granddaughter, Vera Cardwell; A host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Charlie Stewart, Jeb Stewart, Marc Cardwell, Butch Cardwell, Casey Schewe, and Jess Cullins to serve as pallbearers.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Franklin Memorial Gardens. 188 Halfmoon Road Winchester, Tennessee.
