HUNTLAND, Tenn. – A joint investigation between the Lincoln County and Franklin County Sheriff’s Offices has led to multiple arrests in Huntland following the death of a Lincoln County man earlier this week.
According to authorities, the investigation began on April 14, 2026, when a Lincoln County deputy conducted a traffic stop involving three occupants. During the stop, one passenger admitted to ingesting an illegal narcotic. The individual, later identified as 31-year-old Jeffery Dawayne Roberts of Lincoln County, was transported to a hospital in Fayetteville, where he later died.
Law enforcement officials launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Roberts’ death, including efforts to determine the source of the narcotics. That investigation led authorities into Franklin County.
On April 15, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., deputies from both agencies executed a search warrant at a residence located at 101 Hickory Drive in Huntland.
During the search, officers seized approximately one ounce of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, two ounces of a substance believed to be marijuana, multiple firearms—including three rifles, two shotguns, and one pistol—as well as drug paraphernalia.
Three individuals were taken into custody at the residence.
