North Middle School has officially announced Payton Miller as the new head coach of the boys basketball program, bringing a championship pedigree and a strong commitment to student development to the Gators.
The school shared the news in a public statement, with Miller expressing both excitement and gratitude for the opportunity.
“I am excited and honored to announce my new position as Boys Basketball Head Coach at North Middle,” Miller said. “My roots in basketball run deep, including a State Championship at Riverdale High, MVP at an AAU National Championship tournament, MVP at UT Lady Vols Summer Camp, but most importantly, years of learning and loving the game under phenomenal coaches.”
Miller’s background reflects not only personal success on the court but also years of experience studying the game and learning from respected mentors. That foundation now shapes her vision for the North Middle program.
She emphasized that her primary focus will go beyond wins and losses.
“It will always be my responsibility, and most important achievement, to help each individual who takes a part in our program become not only a better athlete, but the best version of themselves,” Miller said. “By showing them respect and holding them accountable to meeting our program and school standards and expectations.”
In addition to leading the boys basketball team, Miller will continue her role as head coach for Cross Country and Track, reinforcing a consistent culture across multiple programs. She cited strong work ethic, pride, discipline, courage, and teamwork as core values she intends to instill in every athlete she leads.
With a proven competitive background and a clear commitment to character development, North Middle’s boys basketball program enters a new chapter under Miller’s leadership — one built on accountability, respect, and pride.
