Martha Ann Rhoads- King

November 16, 1949  –  February 11, 2026

Martha Ann Rhoads-King, age 76 of Decatur, Alabama, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born in Winchester on November 16, 1949, to the late Harvey Delmar and Ollie Lee (Tant) Cossey. Martha Ann was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed tending to her garden. When she was able, she would go to yard sales and thrift stores and could often be found watching the Andy Griffith show on television. A devoted Christian, she attended The Lighthouse Church and loved the time spent there in worship. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Danny Rhoads and Emmitt King; siblings, Wayne Cossey, Lottie Quick, Ulysses Cossey, June Massengill, Gladys Wiseman, Grady Cossey, and infant Cossey; son, Michael Rhoads; and great-grandchild, Kalani Peace. Martha Ann is survived by her sister, Mary Stephens; children, Audrey Steele, Sylvia Pursley, Cindy (Tim) Steele, and Renee (Barney) Peoples; grandchildren, Niki (Yenner) Pascual, Brittney (Shorty) Solis, Sybol Peace, Sharanna (Jose) Bautista, Corey Clark, Pedro Steele, Emilio Steele, Quinton Steele, and Courtney (Luke) Limbaugh; great-grandchildren, Harvey Pack, Mandella Pack, Christopher Mejia, Karma Steele, and Kamill Burnett; Gabriella Bautista, Yasmin Bautista, Jayke Clark, Arlo Steele, Katie Limbaugh, Bentley Limbaugh, and Silas Limbaugh; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro. Junior Partin and Bro. Tony Howard officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
