Tennessee Highway Patrol Announces Upcoming Sobriety Checkpoints

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released a public service announcement regarding two upcoming sobriety checkpoints scheduled in Franklin County as part of ongoing efforts to promote roadway safety and deter impaired driving.

The first checkpoint is planned for Friday, Feb. 13, at 9 a.m., at the intersection of State Route 122 and McClure Cemetery Road.

A second checkpoint is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, at 8 a.m., at the intersection of Bible Crossing Road and Old Estill Springs Road.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, both checkpoints are contingent upon available manpower and weather conditions. Motorists traveling through these areas during the scheduled times should be prepared for possible brief delays.

Sobriety checkpoints are conducted to identify impaired drivers, enhance traffic safety, and reduce alcohol- and drug-related crashes on Tennessee roadways. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, drive sober, and remain alert while traveling through checkpoint areas.
