Winchester, TN – Winchester Utilities responded overnight to a sewer main break just off the Winchester Square on North College Street.
According to the City of Winchester Mayor’s Office, the break is located between the Oldham Theater and the former Mason Lodge building. Crews were dispatched around midnight on February 19 and began working immediately to assess the situation.
Officials say the break is considered deep and repairs are expected to continue throughout the morning, with work concentrated near the back corner of the Oldham Theater. Motorists and pedestrians traveling in the area are encouraged to use caution and expect possible temporary disruptions while crews complete the repair.
City officials expressed appreciation for the quick response from Winchester Utilities employees who worked through the night to begin addressing the issue.
Residents are advised to avoid the immediate work zone if possible and allow crews space to safely complete the necessary repairs. Additional updates will be provided if traffic patterns or access to nearby businesses are impacted.
