Rachel Eloise Acklen, age 90, of Burleson, Texas formerly of Decherd, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Eloise was born on February 1, 1935, in Decherd, Tennessee to the late Charles Alexander and Hattie Bell (Williams) Sanders. She considered Decherd to be her home but lived in Arlington, Texas for the last sixty-two years. Eloise was a faithful member of Southpointe Church in Texas. She enjoyed reading her bible, sewing, cooking, tending to her flowers, and serving others. In addition to her parents, Eloise is preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Acklen, and sister, Gilda Sanders (Lester) Buckner; and brother, John (Geneva) Sanders. She is survived by her son, Joe (Charlynn) Acklen; grandchildren, Sarah (Lance) Perkins, Lia (Casey) Yates, Jessica (Paul) Baumgardner, and Joel Acklen; great-grandchildren, Luke, Madison, Aiden and Hunter Yates, Freddy and Greta Baumgardner. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 1:00-2:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
