WINCHESTER, Tenn. (Jan. 23) — In a rivalry game that came down to the final seconds, the Franklin County Rebelettes rallied in the fourth quarter to pull off a comeback win over Tullahoma High School Tuesday night at Franklin County High School on the Bypass, surviving a last second three-pointer from Lady Cat McClain Bobo to seal a thrilling finish.
Franklin County found its best basketball late, powered by strong closing performances from Na’Kayjah Holman and Gracen Baggett. Holman led all scorers with 17 points, while Baggett delivered the decisive moment with an and-one layup and free throw conversion in the final seconds.
Baggett’s game-winner was especially impressive considering the night she had endured offensively. She entered the fourth quarter with just three points, but came through when it mattered most—scoring five points in the final period, including the crucial three-point play that ultimately proved to be the difference.
The Rebelettes also showed poise after a slow opening stretch, responding to a pointed message from head coach Darrell Jolley, who challenged his team to “WAKE UP” during an early timeout. Franklin County quickly steadied itself, turning the energy in the gym and taking control on the defensive end.
After giving up 16 points in the first quarter, Franklin County clamped down on the Wildcats, holding them to just two points in the second quarter. That defensive effort helped the Rebelettes pull within striking distance at halftime, trailing 18-16.
Supporting scoring for Franklin County included Kenzie Arnold (5 points), Anna Carter (4), Jaylen Ritchie (3), and Sadie Hill (2).
For Tullahoma, the Wildcats’ recent run of close wins came to an end in part due to early foul trouble for Madison McCarl, which impacted their rotation and rhythm as the game tightened.
The victory moves Franklin County to 13-8 overall, continuing a strong stretch with the Rebelettes now 9-3 over their last 12 games. The win also provided another moment of celebration for Rebel fans, coming just days after Baggett surpassed the 1,000-point career milestone earlier in the week on the road against Giles County.
Franklin County returns to action Tuesday against the Marshall County Tigers (6-11) at Franklin County High School.
