James William Copeland

James William Copeland, age 59 of Cowan, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Highpoint Health Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, he was born in Winchester on April 11, 1966, to the late James Claude Copeland and Helen Morgan Copeland. He was currently employed at Baxter and Hi-Tech as an injection molding technician. James had previously been employed as a sous-chef at the University of the South and at London’s in Tullahoma. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting for arrowheads as well as strumming his guitar. He was a wonderful cook and loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his son, Kayden. A true “one of a kind,” James will be missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Ann Copeland. James is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Cynthia Potts Copeland; son, Kayden J.C. Copeland; stepdaughters, Kailyn Swailes and Karley Swailes; sister, Claudia Copeland Bowman; nephew, Joseph Bowman; niece, Brooke (Jay) Formosa; great-nieces, Annie, Lizzie, and Maggie Formosa; four-legged best friend, Chipper; and many cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
