Fred Hillis Jr, age 70 of Cowan, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his residence. He was born in McMinnville on December 29, 1955, to the late Fred and Shirley (Garner) Hillis. Before his retirement, Fred worked as a painter. He loved listening to country music, as well as line-dancing and karaoke. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Fred always enjoyed watching and cheering for his favorite team. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Fred is survived by his loving sister, Debbie Smith; uncles, Jerry Garner, George Garner, and Albert Garner; and aunts, Sheila Reeves and Connie Culbertson. Visitation will be from 11am-12pm on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
