Franklin County Schools incoming Director of Schools Dr. Alsup has announced a major leadership transition, naming Jenny Crabtree as Deputy Director, Human Resources Supervisor, and Federal Programs Supervisor effective July 1, 2026.
Crabtree has served the district for 36 years and will step into the expanded role overseeing district operations and personnel management while continuing her leadership of federal programs.
Her career began in the classroom, teaching first and second grades before serving as a Title I Interventionist and Title I Parent Coordinator. In 2004, she was named Federal Programs Supervisor. Over the past two decades, she has also served as Elementary Supervisor and Assessment Coordinator.
“I have spent the past 36 years serving the Franklin County School System,” Crabtree said. “I look forward to July 1st, when I will take on the new roles of Deputy Director and Human Resources Director, in addition to continuing as the Federal Programs Supervisor. I look forward to being a support for the teachers and staff of our school system.”
Dr. Alsup said Crabtree’s selection reflects her experience and understanding of the district’s culture.
“Mrs. Crabtree was selected for this role because she successfully integrates her administrative experience with a clear understanding of our district’s culture,” Alsup said. “She is known as a steady, approachable leader who recognizes that our staff is our most valuable resource.”
Beginning this summer, Crabtree will oversee both Human Resources and Federal Programs, aligning staffing, professional development and federal initiatives to support student achievement across Franklin County.
