FCHS Rebel Pride Band Hosts 52nd Annual Tri-Lakes Honor Band Clinic Concert

FRANKLIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, TN – The Franklin County High School Rebel Pride Band hosted the 52nd Annual Tri-Lakes Band Director Association Honor Band Clinic Concert on Saturday, Feb. 7, welcoming talented student musicians from across Middle Tennessee for a weekend of music, collaboration and performance.

The annual event featured honor band students representing 27 middle and high schools from the region. Despite having limited rehearsal time, the students delivered a memorable performance that culminated in a standing-room-only concert at Franklin County High School.

This year’s clinic included multiple ensembles, each led by experienced directors from across the area. The percussion ensemble was directed by Jayce Clemons, while Middle School Band B was led by Cynthia Winter and Middle School Band A by Dr. Christopher Metcalfe. The High School Honor Band was conducted by Taylor Rundell.

Students and directors arrived Friday evening to begin rehearsals and returned early Saturday morning, starting again at 8:30 a.m. In total, the musicians had just nine hours to learn and prepare their concert selections — a challenge that showcased both their talent and dedication.

The event was coordinated by Tri-Lakes Band Director Association President Paula Watts alongside FCHS Band Director Skylar McGee. The evening’s concert was emceed by South Middle School Band Director Ryan Bruce, who guided the audience through the program.

Despite the demanding schedule, the students’ hard work paid off, with performances reflecting a high level of musicianship and teamwork. The clinic once again highlighted the strength of band programs throughout Middle Tennessee and the commitment of educators who support music education across the region.
