FCHS Principal Jeannie Miller to Retire After 30 Years of Service to Franklin County Schools

Franklin County High School Principal Jeannie Miller has announced she will retire at the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year, bringing to a close a distinguished career that has spanned more than three decades in the same building she has long considered home.

Franklin County High School confirmed the announcement this week, noting that Miller has dedicated her entire professional career to FCHS. During her tenure, she served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and ultimately principal — impacting generations of students and families across Franklin County.

In a message shared with faculty and staff, Miller reflected on her 30-plus years at the school, describing FCHS as her home and expressing gratitude for the relationships built with students, colleagues, and the community. Her leadership has been marked by consistency, professionalism, and a deep commitment to student success.

Cary Holman, current Director of Schools for Franklin County Schools, congratulated Miller on her retirement and praised her years of service and dedication to the district. He described her leadership and professionalism as model attributes for faculty and staff.

Roger Alsup, who currently serves as Director of Human Resources and has been named the district’s next Director of Schools, also reflected on Miller’s legacy. Alsup, a former principal of FCHS, highlighted her steady commitment to students, staff, and the community, noting that her influence will be felt for years to come.

Known for her students-first philosophy, Miller has helped shape the culture and direction of Franklin County High School for more than a generation. Her official final day will be June 1, 2026. The district will begin the process of identifying her successor in the coming months as the community celebrates a career defined by dedication, leadership, and lasting impact.
