Charles Loyd Riddle, age 76 of Estill Springs, passed away on March 16, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Franklin County on December 5, 1949, to the late Dan Riddle and Hazel Riddle. Charles served in the United States Army before later working with the Tullahoma Utility Board where he later retired after 35 years. Charles loved to work on his classic cars, tend to his garden, ride his scooter to visit neighbors, and fix his favorite meal, tea and pinto beans for his family. He always loved being at home. Charles will always be remembered as a hard worker who took care of his daughter. Charles attended the Huntland Pentecostal Church. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his siblings, Pam Gill, Josephine Lee, Ronnie West, Helen Collins, Francis Brinkley, and Hattie Ruth Hill. Charles is survived by his daughter, Becky (Dennis) Conn; bonus son, Mike (Martha) Schmidt; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Hunter) Rains, Aaron Conn; great-grandchild, Hadley Rains; bonus grandchildren, Isaac, Chandler, Dara, Samuel, Kyle; brother-in-law, Curtis Gill; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 5pm-8pm, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Mitchell Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Pennington Cemetery.
