Virginia Man Arrested in Shelbyville for Rape of a Child

On Friday (January 17, 2025), Shelbyville detectives successfully apprehended James Howard Reed, Jr. from Crewe, Virginia, without incident. Reed, a military contractor, traveled to Shelbyville from Fort Campbell with the intent to engage in sexual activities with someone he believed to be a 10-year-old female juvenile.
Reed has been booked for alleged Rape of a Child with a bond set at $200,000 and is currently held at Bedford County Corrections.
