In a hard-fought battle at the BlueCross Basketball Championships on March 22, 2025, the Tullahoma Wildcats fell short against the Upperman Bees, losing 65-55 in the state championship game.

The game remained competitive early on, with both teams tied at 10 after the first quarter. Upperman built a slight lead by halftime, leading 23-19, and extended it in the third quarter, outscoring Tullahoma 18-15. Despite a strong 21-point fourth-quarter push, Tullahoma was unable to close the gap as Upperman sealed the victory.

Senior guard Khani Johnson led the way for Tullahoma, scoring 21 points while also contributing five rebounds and two assists. The Wildcats shot 42.6% from the field but struggled from beyond the arc, making just 4-of-17 three-pointers (23.5%). Free throw shooting also proved costly, as Tullahoma converted only 50% (5-of-10) of their attempts.

Upperman’s Ty Cobb was the standout performer of the night, dominating with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. The Bees capitalized on their efficiency, shooting 51.6% from the field and a crucial 88.6% (31-of-35) from the free-throw line, which helped them maintain control despite committing 11 turnovers.

While Tullahoma’s season didn’t end with a championship, their journey to the state title game showcased their resilience and determination. The Wildcats finished as state runners-up, capping off an impressive season with a strong showing in the final.
